Old Charm &
The Czaar Peter Kwartier used to be the place where ships were repaired, ropes were made, fish was brought in, and traders did their trades. Rough and adventurous are words that spring to mind. But also: dangerous and wild. That atmosphere stuck to this quarter after the shipyards had already left for a long time. But intense renovations and clever planning changed the course of history of this little group of islands. The old that was good was kept intact, with beautiful old façades and cosy side streets.
The creatives — always the first to recognize a good spot — found their way to the area. Charmed by the special character of the neighborhood, the space, and the easy going pace. And soon other lovers of art, food, wines & beers, scents, fashion, and old trades followed suit. The shop owners are just as adventurous and free minded like the creatives and the people from the sea. All here to bring you the best in life.
And what about Tsar Peter the Great? He proved to be as much a Jack of all Trades as the shops in this neighborhood. He came here to master ship-building. But his interests and ambition drove him to learning all sorts of different crafts and sciences. This enthusiasm and curiosity is exactly what you will still find in the Czaar Peter Kwartier.
